From Los Angles - to the set of Cages 09/14/04

Hello,

I'm technically not part of the cast or crew of cages, but I feel I have been a part of this project from the beginning. For the last 4 or 5 years Graham, Alex and several of his friends (including me)have met for dim sum in Los Angeles's China town almost every Sunday.

During one of our weekend feasts I remember Graham talking about a script he had just completed and wanted me to read. The story has gone through several rewrites and revisions since then, but the essence of the story has remained the same. It's amazing that so much hard work over the last four years has become something tangible and real.

Even though I'm not working on the project, I hope I gave the cast and crew some moral support while I visited the set.

I was there for the Club Street scenes, which I think everyone agrees was very stressful. The great thing about this project is that everyone is working towards the same goal. People are not letting there egos get in the way of producing a film everyone can be proud of.

I wish I had more time to spend in Singapore because I barely got to see Graham with his 18 hour a day schedule . I don't know how he has the stamina for this, but I can say that I'm very proud of him and happy the project is going forward. I won't forget experiencing first hand the determination and tenacity of the whole crew.

Nothing worth accomplishing in life is easy, but in the end I think everyone will be impressed with the work they have done. Thanks, everyone for treating me like family while I visited Singapore. I hope to be back before they wrap it all up.

Take care,

David Wittow
Friend and official cages supporter
