Preparing for Singapore
09/04/04
Things are busy back in the states as we prepare to go to exotic Singapore. Jessica, Att and are very excited to be going to Singapore to perform and support CAGES. This will be our first experience in “making” a movie or being involved in a soundtrack. Wow! To think that Graham loves Jessica’s music so much that he wanted to use her song PENNY as the theme song for the movie is just an honor.
Jessica has been very busy on this end. With several recording sessions and the recent finishing of her new album STANDING along with completing Her new web site @ www.jessicacallahan.com things are picking up steam.
It was wonderful to watch her on Television and experience the taping of a show and her opportunity to promote the movie and theme song live. Thanks to Alex Lebosq for setting that up!
As a father of Jessica, I have had the unique experience of seeing her grow into a beautiful, poised and talented young lady. Att and I from the time she was born premature and lost her sight, have always encouraged her that she can do almost anything she set out to do. We really support the underlining theme of CAGES and understand the value of not creating cages around potential greatness. We have seen all too many times the results of this restrictive mentality with many parents of blind children. It is not just with the blind though. We all put certain limits on our incredible potential as human beings. Only when we break the mold of ‘what is acceptable behavior and thinking about going beyond’ and have a paradigm shift in appreciation and thinking can we truly enjoy life.
Jessica, who just got back from sea camp 2 weeks ago, came back with a new hobby “ Dad, I need a wet suit. I love to surf!’ She learned how in 3 days and was riding waves. Dude! She snow skis, went hang gliding and is looking forward to coming back from Singapore to go water skiing.
Nope. No Cages around her.
