Hi, you can call me Charm!

Time stands still for no man. Or woman. 07/02/04

Sheesh… what a cliché opening… but beggars can’t be choosers and as of the moment, my mind’s resisting the command to start it’s engine and churn out something witty and refreshing and as Graham would like it, engaging.

I’m writing today’s entry probably because I’m the only person left in the office at the moment (Graham doesn’t count, considering that he’s living here 24/7 for the next few months). It’s 10.20pm right now and as Hass would put it, “It’s time to get a life!” And putting action to words, she is at the moment out – getting a life. Of course, just like Cinderella, she will be back not long after midnight, churning out schedule after schedule, hoping deep down in her heart that her Prince Charming (aka Sugar Daddy) will come rescue her from this weary-sleep-on-a-hard-and-backless-couch-in-the-office kind of lifestyle and launch her into a world of riches and wealth where she can open her catering business and play with nursery kids.

Since I’m on the subject, let me continue in this vein.

Sitting beside Hass, whom we affectionately term the Fish (you’ll have to see her workspace to understand) is a man who typifies a gentle giant. He drives us around willingly (but of course), talks to his girlfriend very sweetly over the phone and lets us call him the farmer without any retaliation. Part of the reason might be because that was the nickname he chose for himself. Shawn the Farmer. That’s our location manager for you.

Now that we have established the Fish and the Farmer, let’s move on.

Across the Fish Farm is a rather neat and empty corner. Just a week ago, it was cluttered and unrecognizable and overflowing into other areas and almost down the stairs even. If you’ve guessed correctly that I’m talking about the Art Department, go treat yourself for getting that right with some chocolates. It’s not as fattening as you think it can be. =) Our Art Department includes Sam (Sam’s a girl, short for Samantha), Is (constantly oozing with machismo… so he says) and the latest addition, Clement (who will probably be entering a blog soon cos as an intern, he’s gonna be one of those with the most free time). And Graham agrees.

It’s 10.45pm right now and I’m in a brain freeze. It’s not easy to write stuff like this. It has to flow. If it doesn’t, it’ll sound all weird and unnatural. And yet, at the same time, you can’t key in everything you’re thinking about at the moment because some people don’t think linearly and their thoughts are so random and scattered that it’s easier to draw constellations in the sky star to star than figure out what they’re saying. Like mine does.

Now look what I’ve done? I’ve completely lost track of whatever I was typing. Of course, it’s all typed down so I can always conveniently scroll back up and look. But it’s late and I’m hungry and I still have work to do.

It’s not easy making a feature film you know… lots of hard work and rewriting of scripts and plots and finding the right face for the characters, no matter how extra they may be and researching into attires and locations and languages and cultures and the one thing that it really requires – chocolates.

Yes chocolates.

‘Nuff said.

Charm.
