Visual Talk
08/19/04
To this day, I still have no clue as to who came up with the phrase Actions speak louder than words. I totally agree with the sentiment as I am from the school of thought that believes that not everyone has been gifted to write. Most are usually graced for other things.
CAGES started production yesterday. There was no breaking of wine bottles against bows or cutting of pink curly ribbons but as a production goes, it was special.
As the days fly by and we move from location to location filming shot after shot, I foresee that many, if not most of us will either be out of office or too busy to even switch on our workstations to check our mail. Thus, we aim to provide you dear faithful and supportive friends more visuals of our shoots to make up for "lost words".
Cheers,
Charm.
2nd Assistant Director
Well, day two is done. a greater part of our opening sequence and the whole setup for the film is now in the can. I love the look. It's beautiful. And the acting has nothing less than honest performances
from talented actors. The crew is really starting to work smootly now. Tomorrow will be a big test, as we leave the confinements of a set and hit the open streets of Singapore. Thank you for all the great
e-mails that have been coming in. It really does make my day when i have a chance to read from freinds inspiring words. Without them, work can get very overwhelming. I took a few of them from today and pasted them below. Check them out...hell, you might even be one of them. I gotta get some sleep. I'm so tired. Until tomorrow...

Graham
Your journey has been a long and arduous one. But, in many ways, it is just beginning. You have exhibited the qualities of both an artist and of a leader (not often found in the same being), and once again I am
compelled to share with you just how you have inspired me and how proud I am to be able to call you friend. I wish you a production that is spiritually, emotionally, creatively and professionally fulfilling and
challenging. I know that the end result will be a thing of beauty because that beauty existed within your soul and on the very first page. So, let go and let God. Let go of expectation, apprehension, frustration and embrace all the angelic and divine assistance that has
been around you since the idea of Cages was first planted within your consciousness. There are many prayers supporting your direction and your ultimate success: You are paving the way for others to follow your path. May I exhibit half the perserverence and grace that you have embodied, when I take my first step towards a similar destination. We are all children of God, the ultimate creator. And as his offspring, we
inherit his creative nature and it is encumbent upon us to create as well, in whatever way our spirit moves us to do so. So, make your movie, Graham, and with every frame that is shot, know, with complete
certainty, that you are fulfilling your destiny.
With all my love and admiration,
Tina Treadwell - Los Angeles
Graham - I have been meaning to email you but swamped with work and travel - it's been an extremely busy summer! But I have been avidly
reading al the Cages emails, blogs etc. And as you finally start shooting, I just wanted to write and wish you the very best of luck. I'm hugely excited - it sounds like it's all going brilliantly - and I can't wait to view the final film. All the very best,
Cindy Gallop - New York
Hi Graham,
Congrats! All your hard work is paying off! So happy for you all. Hang in there. I hope everything goes smoothly for you all. Best of luck on all your shoot days. Thank you for sending me all the updates, I've enjoyed reading all about your progress. It's very exciting. I'm not sure if you've been getting my emails...I've sent a blog...not sure if you got it. If not
I'll send it again. It's wonderful to watch all your hard work come to a reality...of course I always knew this day would come. You never ever gave up. The end always justifies the means. I hope you have excellent weather and all the help you need there. It appears you have an excellent team! Thinking of you all. Keep the faith.
Much love,
Janet Ladd-Ryan, Actress - Los Angeles

Graham,
Congratulations and best wishes to you. I know it is exciting and nerve racking. Your presence is missed in Hollywood,, though we are managing, somehow. Hope you can get some sleep tonight. Looking
forward to seeing you soon.
Joel Howard - Actor, Los Angeles
G-
Love getting the updates. love the site!!! Thinking of you guys. Give my love to Zelda!
Glenn Meham - Producer, Los Angeles
KUDOS !!!!!! If it's break a leg for a theater production, since you're filming on location in a foreign country, should I say, "break a country?????" LOL. I have truly enjoyed reading all about what's been
going on with you and your gang--behind the scenes-- in Singapore. It somehow makes it like those of us reading about it are somehow part of what's going on - but not really... I guess kind of like a studio
executive... Seriously, I can already tell that this will be a transforming experience for you -- personally and professionally. I could not be happier for you. Wishing it all it can be for you -- embrace and enjoy......Keep the faith.....
Eric Scott - Los Angeles
good luck with everything. it is really exciting. i read all your little updates. it's really cool. how do you even have time to do that? anyway, congratulations on the filming stage and good luck.
can't til it's finished!!!!
take care,
john Vo - Los Angeles
Graham, CONGRATULATIONS! Determination and artistic integrity are your hallmarks. It is so gratifying to see shooting begin. BTW, you look like a movie star/director in your most recent photograph. There is
still air in the tires of your Jeep, though the weeds are pushing their way up.
