A New Chapter
08/18/04
Hi everyone,
A few words from our Director and DP on the first day of shoot.
DAY ONE:
Okay, we had quite a day. A lot to tackle for a first day. The opening shot was top priority on our agenda, followed by a lovemaking scene. Both are equally technical, and being our first day, it was quite a test for our team. But, luckily, we all pulled through. Art Department was on it. Make-up and Wardrobe were constantly assisting the artistes. Continuity was taking notes on every turned leaf. Mark (the DP) and I worked under the command of Wing, as the clock ticked throughout the day.
In the end, we got what we needed. Although we did lose two shots, we gained some others too. We learnt to think on the spot, be creative, and find solutions to time restraints. This is bound to be a reoccurring challenge, as in any indy film, time is money. And money... well, we don't have.
Tomorrow is yet another great challenge. Dialogue. Wish us luck.

Good first day... Some very tricky shots took a bit time, but magical results prevailed, gotta be happy with that! :)
Very brave actors, great professional crew, a few little systems to iron out as the days progress but that’s usual as a team gets to know each other.
Love your work team! Let's continue to make some magic :)
